NUR 120 Nursing Concepts for the Foundations of Practice
This course incorporates foundational skills and concepts for the provision of patient centered holistic care. Emphasis is on therapeutic communication and the development of health assessment, spirit of inquiry, and clinical judgement. Key concepts include principles of medication administration, fluid and electrolyte balance, acid/base balance, immunity, infection, inflammation, sensory perception, and tissue integrity. Clinical practice experiences provide opportunities to integrate the concepts presented throughout the course in the clinical setting.
