GEO1000 Physical Geology
This course will introduce the key concepts of geology by examining the Earth and the processes that take place within it. Students will investigate: Earth’s internal processes; plate tectonics, rock cycle, the formation of the geologic structures, volcanoes, earthquakes, and mountain building; surface processes including weathering, erosion, and mass wasting; hydrological cycle and changing landscapes; energy and mineral resources; and laboratory component will stress the use of basic scientific methods and problem solving.
