This course is an introductory course in Health Information Technology/Management. Topics include the evolution of the health information management profession, the purpose and function of the health record; data stewardship, ethical obligations and core values of the profession; healthcare delivery systems, and organizational principles and work planning classification systems; data management; revenue management and reimbursement; ethical issues; management; human resource management; and fraud and abuse.. 2 Cr Hrs.
