Social Work Addiction Option, AAS

Program Description

The Social Work Addictions Option is for those individuals interested in pursuing a career in the addictions field. The program is designed to prepare the student with the skills necessary to obtain their Certified Addictions Practitioner Assistant (CAPA) certification. The student who completes this option and obtains CAPA certification may work within inpatient or outpatient drug or alcohol treatment programs, detoxification centers, and drug court programs. The student is required to pass a criminal background check and drug screen to be eligible for practicum experiences.

Student must complete six (6) credits of general education courses distributed over two (2) different general education areas, one of which is either WR2 or ORAL.
