ORGL 4025 Nonprofit Program Development and Evaluation

In this course, the student will create a nonprofit organizational plan. The plan will include major elements of nonprofit programs such as needs assessment, marketing and communications, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising, volunteer performance, and assembling a team from staff to board members. (3 lect.)

Outcomes

In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:

1. Determine whether there is an actual, quantifiable need for a program or service through needs assessment.

2. Appraise market behavior and external market forces in relation to economic concepts.

3. Produce a program plan that includes a timeline, outcomes, impact, and resources needed.

4. Design a logic model with set evaluation questions, monitoring, and evaluation plans.

5. Create a fundraising event model aligning budget and mission to engage supporters and raise money.

6. Design a program plan for an existing or potential nonprofit organization that includes the following: mission statement, budget, fundraising, marketing and communication, event planning, staffing, volunteer and board membership structure, and performance evaluation.
