MATH 1001 Math Workshop I
This workshop must be taken in conjunction with
MATH 1000 and is not a standalone course. Its purpose is to provide the necessary algebra skills required to be successful in
MATH 1000, Problem Solving. Topics covered include operations involving integers and rational numbers, polynomials and work applications, and solving linear equations and inequalities algebraically, graphically, and numerically. Prerequisites: Completion of
MATH 0900 or test into
MATH 0920 or higher. (2 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Apply problem solving techniques.
2. Perform unit conversions.
3. Perform operations on real number.
4. Simplify algebraic expressions using the order of operations.
5. Solve and graph linear equations and inequalities.

All instructors must teach the use of the TI-83 or TI-84 calculator and use the text decided upon by the mathematics department.
