Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Demonstrate understanding of the components of overall wellness
2. Demonstrate ability to act as an informed health consumer
3. Demonstrate understanding of a balanced exercise program
4. Demonstrate understanding of basic nutrition
5. Demonstrate understanding of weight management
6. Demonstrate understanding of high-risk health behaviors (which may include use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, high-risk sexual practices, lack of home or travel safety practices)
7. Demonstrate understanding of the etiology and prevention of hypokinetic diseases (which may include cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, low back pain)
8. Demonstrate understanding of the effect of stress on health
9. Demonstrate acceptance of responsibility for personal health
10. Participate in an individualized exercise program.
Completion of this course is based on the student's ability to complete 9 quizzes successfully and participating in an exercise program a minumum of 2 hours per week.
