EDEC 2470 Endorsement Practicum
This course is a practicum experience in an education setting. The focus will be on developing a portfolio, increasing awareness of growth and development, teaching strategies, academic content, and classroom management. The course includes an online component of coursework and discussions. (2 lect., 1 lab)

- Activity planning and implementation.
- Assessments and evaluation.
Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Discuss lesson plan objectives and curriculum for young children, including children with special needs.
2. Create lesson plans for a thematic unit of study in an early childhood environment covering all of the curriculum areas, including accommodations for children with special needs.
3. Evaluate current philosophies of how to support children's growth and development.
4. Summarize articles from professional journals relating to current trends and issues in Early Childhood Education.
5. Complete 15 hours of practicum.
6. Develop a professional portfolio.
