CNSL 2100 Case Management in Counseling
Students will obtain a broad overview of the integral role of case management services in achieving the mission of human services agencies of today. Professional ethics, Federal and State confidentiality requirements, client advocacy, and special requirements of substance abuse agencies will be explored. Students will demonstrate proficiency in developing and presenting a case plan. (3 lect.)

Outcomes
In order to successfully complete this course, the student will:
1. Discuss assigned readings in case management practice.
2. Analyze best practices in case management.
3. Demonstrate effective communication in written and oral mediums.
4. Design and assess an individualized plan with a participating student ‘client.’
5. Present client cases in professional settings to the class.

Assessment: Student performance will be measured by the following:
• Three tests
• Interview with a role playing student client
• Class participation
