Bachelor of Applied Science Pathways

There are three admission opportunities for pursuing the Bachelor of Applied Science at Central Wyoming College.

  1. Associate Degree Pathway: Upon admission the student will declare an associate degree (AA, AS, AAS or ADN) as part of the bachelor’s degree plan, and will have completed the first two years upon completion of the associate degree.  If the student has completed some college coursework but has not completed an associate degree, they will need to submit official college transcripts from all  previous schools and enroll with advanced standing.  Students may take up to 15 credits of upper-division courses prior to completing an associate degree. The student must apply for graduation from the associate degree program once all program requirements have been completed. The student must then be confirmed by his or her Faculty Advisor or Success Coach that they remain on the BAS track and to graduate, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (“C” average) or better on all courses taken at Central Wyoming College.
  2. Transfer Pathway: The transfer pathway for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree includes these elements: 1) The student must have completed an associate degree in a specific discipline from a regionally accredited school with 60 credits minimum; 2) The lower division courses must be completed before a student can enroll in more than 15 upper-division credits at CWC; 3) Course prerequisites must be completed before a student can enroll in upper-division courses; 4) For transfer credit, upper division course requirements must be earned through a regionally accredited institution of higher education and may be considered, on an individual basis, from institutions that are not regionally accredited.  Specific courses that fulfill the general education requirements may be stipulated by the specific bachelor’s degree option and to graduate, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (“C” average) or better on all courses taken at Central Wyoming College.
  3. Direct Pathway: The direct pathway for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree has the student declaring the BAS program initially as a freshman. The student may still transfer credits from other institutions to meet a portion of the degree, but does not declare an associate degree as a part of the BAS plan and to graduate, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (“C” average) or better on all courses taken at Central Wyoming College.
