College and Career Readiness Program

Among its services, the Adult Education (AE)/ High School Equivalency (HEQ) program administers the necessary tests and awards the equivalent of the high school diploma to those who successfully complete all requirements. The Riverton-area main office of the College Career and Readiness Program is located in Main Hall, room 176.

Students must be 18 years of age or older to take the HiSet Test Battery without restriction. Students who are 16 or 17 years of age and not attending high school may qualify for an age waiver from the Wyoming Community College Commission. Qualification depends upon attainment of required scores on subject practice tests. The HiSet Test Battery covers five areas: Language Arts–Reading, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts-Writing, and Math. Adult Education instruction and/or testing are also provided by outreach centers in Jackson, Lander, Fort Washakie, Thermopolis, and Dubois.

Preparation for the HiSet Test Battery is offered in classes or as individualized instruction during the daytime or evening hours at the AE Centers in the CWC service area. There is no fee each semester to enroll in the program instruction.  For students who wish to take the battery of HSEC exams, there may be a fee for testing through HiSET. Students who qualify through the program will be assisted with the testing fee.

The program also offers English Language Acquisition (ELA) through English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) courses in Jackson.  ESL courses take place in the evening hours. Interested persons should contact CWC-Jackson for more information, 307.733.7425.

Accommodations are available to students with documented disabilities who are enrolled in any program. Disclosure of a disability is voluntary.  Students may discuss accommodations with program personnel at any time during instruction. Interested persons should contact the College and Career Readiness Program on the CWC campus for more information, 307.855.2193 or 800.745.8418, ext. 2193.
