This course explores the properties of hair and scalp, hair and scalp treatments, men’s haircutting and styling, and men’s hair replacement.  Prerequisite: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in BARB-1502 and BARB-1550. (8 lab)

Identify common hair and scalp disorders and diseases.

Explain the consultation process.

Explain the influence of hair type, texture, and face shape on hair design.

Demonstrate haircutting techniques.

Describe the various treatments for dry, oily, and dandruff affected hair.

Demonstrate styling techniques.

Demonstrate infection control practices.
