Patient Care Technician Certificate II

Program Description

The Patient Care Technician Certificate II is designed to prepare the student for entry-level employment in an expanded role in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. The program includes training as a nursing assistant, with additional preparation in phlebotomy, basic electrocardiography, and expanded patient care techniques. The curriculum provides the student the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, practice skills laboratories, and supervised practicum experiences.

Graduates of the Patient Care Technician program are eligible to take the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam, the National Certified Patient Care Technician Exam, the National Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam, the National Certified Electrocardiography Technician Exam, and will hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification. Successful completion of the program does not guarantee certification.
