CNSL 2320 Addictions Assessment
In this course the student will examine the various tools used to help in the assessment of alcohol dependence and other addictions. Students will practice using these tools including the Alcohol Severity Index (ASI), which is required by the state of Wyoming when screening individuals for addiction. A focus of the course will be on determining if an individual is chemically dependent, and if so, how severe is the addiction. Proper referral to treatment centers will also be addressed. It is recommended that students take
HMSV 2130 prior to or concurrently with this course. (3 lect.)
