Communication: Media Communication (B.S.)

The Media Communication degree is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in journalism, public relations, media production, and/or other communication/media-related fields. Students in this degree program will learn to write, report, create images, capture photographs/video, and/or produce professional communication for a variety of media. This includes the production of media communication in digital environments, including audio, video, and social media. In addition to the Communication Core, all students must complete the Media Arts Foundation. Beyond this Foundation, this program offers three concentrations:

  • Journalism-Public Relations
  • Media Production
  • Design Production

Students in the Media Communication degree must choose one of the above concentrations. Students have the option to choose a second concentration, or they may choose electives (which can include a minor) to total 120 credits. If a student wishes to take a minor, it must be from outside of the Media Communication program.
