EDG 625 Advanced Behavioral Support & Intervention

This course concentrates on theories of behavior and providing useful information on the etiologies of behavior problems; familiarizing students with characteristics of behavior problems; providing practical and effective behavior management strategies; furnishing students with the knowledge to select and implement behavior charting tools; providing students with the information necessary to write an individual or group behavior management program; methods of implementing behavioral intervention strategies; and selecting systematic behavioral intervention assessments. Fieldwork includes assessment of behavior problems and designing and implementing behavior intervention plans. The student is required to interpret behavior scales, write functional behavior assessments, and create behavior intervention plans that are implemented through field experiences with 25 direct contact hours.
