HDFS 355 Marital Relationships

Healthy marriages provide a solid foundation for individual and family development and reflect Christ's relationship with the Church. The course will investigate facets of marriage including its history, dynamics, and enrichment, and address topics such as couple formation, attachment-based love, rituals and traditions, theology of marriage, gender roles, communication and conflict, intimate partner violence, separation and divorce, and marital strengths. Students will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of marital relationships, interact with married couples, consider their own views, and learn ways to approach relationship education.
