OCCU 623 Administration, Management & Leadership for Ethical OT Practice

This course emphasizes the role of the OT as a leader and manager who models ethical behaviors, fostering an environment and culture of integrated ethics across a variety of service delivery systems. The qualities of an effective leader are examined including the essential skills of planning, organizing, leading and outcome evaluation. Understanding of health care policy and how it affects reimbursement and delivery of services will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on the essential professional skills required to synthesize legislation, policy, quality improvement and advocacy as an occupational therapy practitioner and leader.
