TTD 1500 CDL Heavy Truck/Tractor/Trailer Driving

The course is designed for students with minimum or no previous driving experience in heavy truck or tractor/trailer combinations. Students will receive 100 hours of lecture and classroom exercises in basic truck driving knowledge and skills, Department of Transpor-tation (DOT) Rules and Regulations, maintaining a logbook, trip planning, CDL test preparation, etc. In addition students will receive 20 hours of individualized behind the wheel heavy truck tractor/trailer driving instruction. Students considering enrolling in this course must have a commercial driving permit, must pass drug-screening tests, and must possess the physical abilities necessary for the truck driv-ing industry. Before enrolling in this course, students must be approved by the CWC Department of Workforce and Community Educa-tion. Completion standards are determined by the Wyoming Contractors Association and students must pass the CDL-A test in order to earn a completion certificate. Training requirements are set forth in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation for entry-level driver training in accordance with 49 CFR 380 503. (2 lect., 6 lab)
